Taking care of your health and your heart!
Heart disease is on the rise every year… But you have the power to turn that around!
The #1 and #2 things for a healthy heart are EXERCISE & NUTRITION.
The heart is a muscle, so it needs to exercise.
Here are some ways that exercise helps the heart!
1- Exercise lowers blood pressure.
Exercise works like medications used for high blood pressure to slow the heart rate and lower blood pressure. High blood pressure is one of the biggest risk factors for heart disease.

2- Exercise is key to weight control.
The heart needs space to move. It needs to keep beating. Extra weight puts extra pressure on the heart making it work harder than it should. Being overweight puts extra stress on the heart and is a huge risk factor for heart disease.

3- Grow Young Fitness Exercises help strengthen muscles.
As you workout, your muscles of the body aid the heart in it’s job. Doing strength training, cardio and the walks of Grow Young Fitness help the heart to decrease heart disease.

4- Exercise can stop or slow the development of diabetes.
Diabetes is hard on the heart as well. When the hormones in the body are unbalanced, the muscles are as well. (Remember, the heart is a muscle.) Any added stress to the heart increases heart disease.

5- Exercise lowers stress.
Stress hormones can put an extra burden on the heart. Exercise naturally releases anti-stress hormones to calm the body. This is known as the “exercise high”.

6- Exercise reduces inflammation.
Inflammation of the body is no good for anything. It causes pains in the body, aches in the joints, and also puts a lot of additional pressure on the heart. Exercise will help move the blood flow, which decreases inflammation.
So how do you help the heart?
1 - Exercise at least 3-5 times a week with Grow Young Fitness.
2 - Stop eating highly processed foods that are high in salt, sugar and fat!
3 - Put a smile on your face!
4 - Keep It Movin!
